MBA Curriculum Overview

Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Curriculum Overview

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is designed in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and follows a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), Grading System, and Outcome Based Education (OBE) framework. The programme is designed to develop competent, responsible, and industry-ready management professionals with strong managerial knowledge, analytical thinking, leadership capabilities, ethical values, and lifelong learning orientation.
 

The curriculum follows a learner-centric, multidisciplinary, and outcome-based approach that integrates conceptual knowledge with practical learning, skill development, research, industry exposure, experiential learning, and specialization-based education. The programme prepares students for careers across diverse functional domains including Marketing Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management, and Business Analytics.

 

The curriculum includes:

  • Generic Core Courses

  • Subject Core Courses

  • Generic Elective Courses

  • Subject/Specialization Electives

  • Desk Research

  • Field Project

  • On-the-Job Training (OJT)

  • Research Project

  • Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)

  • Skill Development and experiential learning components

The MBA programme is structured over 2 years and 4 semesters. Students complete a minimum of 101 credits for the award of the MBA degree. The curriculum provides flexibility through elective courses, specialization, micro-specializations, MOOCs, field-based learning, on-the-job training, and research work.

Students select their specialization at the beginning of Semester III. The programme offers the following specializations:

  • Marketing Management

  • Financial Management

  • Human Resource Management

  • Operations & Supply Chain Management

Semester-wise Credit Distribution

  • Semester I – 26 Credits

  • Semester II – 26 Credits

  • Semester III – 27 Credits

  • Semester IV – 22 Credits

  • Total – 101 Credits

The MBA degree is awarded upon successful completion of the prescribed 101 credits.

The MBA curriculum integrates research, experiential learning, industry exposure, specialization, digital learning, and multidisciplinary management education to prepare learners for professional careers, entrepreneurship, leadership roles, and lifelong learning.
